Less than one year after tying the knot, Miley Cyrus and Aussie star Liam Hemsworth appear to have separated.
A spokesperson for the singer told Peoplemagazine the pair have agreed to separate “at this time”.
“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they focus on themselves and careers,” the spokesperson said in a statement on Sunday, People reported
“They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Neither star has commented publicly on social media yet.
After much speculation, Miley and Liam married at a low-key ceremony at their Tennessee home last December.
But rumours began to circulate this week when Miley was spotted without her wedding ring in posts on social media.
The pair around a decade ago in 2009 during the filming of The Last Song, only confirming that they were a hot item in 2010 when they made a debut as a couple at an Oscars event in March of that year.
It wasn’t always smooth sailing for the pair with a series of breakups and reunions resulting in their first engagement in 2013. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be and the young couple split for a few years.
In late 2015 and early 2016, there were rumours that the pair had not only gotten back together for good but were once again engaged. This was later confirmed, but it appears they have now split again.
