Step aside, the dog is on the loose! Fresh off the heels of his prison release on Friday, DMX is back to doing what he does best.

Dark Man X put on his first post-prison performance Saturday night at Mr. Ciao in Staten Island. The energy was through the roof as the Yonkers rapper took his fans through a rendition of timeless hits like, “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” “Where the Hood At,” “Party Up (Up in Here)” and more, backed by DJ Finesse.

According to the 100 plus supporters in attendance, X also performed some freestyle material.

DMX stepped in place of Ja Rule who was the original featured act but canceled.

After serving a year in West Virginia’s Federal Correctional Facility for tax evasion, DMX was released and was photographed with his child and fiancée the same day. According to Swizz Beatz, he’s focused getting back to his normal life and delivering songs to his fans.
